Sun Safety

Golden Rules of Sun Sense and Safety

Apply sun protection generously and evenly before going out in the sun.

Reapply sun protection after 20 minutes to ensure even coverage and no missed bits.

Continue to apply sun protection throughout the day, especially after swimming and towelling. Use a minimum SP15 and make sure you choose the right SPF for your skin type and holiday destination. Avoid the sun between 11am – 3pm.

Wear loose clothing, a hat and sunglasses.

Remember, a child’s skin needs extra protection, so make sure children and babies are kept out of direct sunlight.

Children of all ages should wear brimmed hats, sunglasses and clothing such as T-shirts.

Always use sun protection when you are out and about – not only on the beach. Think also: playgrounds, sports and recreation grounds, and picnics.

Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated while
in the sun.

Apply After Sun to cool, soothe, moisturise
and replenish your skin.
